Transit Contract Update

On May 28, 2014, the King County Council approved Ordinance 2014-0170, adopting the collective bargaining agreement between King County and Technical Employees Association, Transit Staff, for 2014. The clerk of the Council now has 5 days to transmit the contract back to the Executive for signature. The Executive then has 10 days to sign it and the County code requires a 10-day waiting period before the ordinance adopting the contract is enacted into law, approximately mid-June.

Payroll will then implement the new 2014 payrates (w/COLA) in about 30 days (mid-July). Payroll will then calculate the retro back to 1/1/14 and add that amount to a regular payroll check in late July or early August.

If you have any questions, please see Elizabeth Wright, Transit Bargaining Chair, or Bargaining Committee members Colin Asquith and Jerry Williams.
