1. June Monthly meeting
Meeting will be June 20th in King & Chinook conference rooms, 6th floor KSC at 12 Noon.
Topics in this newsletter will be covered in more detail at the monthly meeting as needed, and the usual suspects like a treasurer report will make an appearance. Hope to see you there!
2. Bargaining updates
Next bargaining session is June 20th, and the primary topics of conversation are the compensation items.
Transit Contract Update
Transit members received a special TEA Times announcement on 5/3 that a TA (tentative agreement) for '08-'13 contract had been reached. The TA includes settlement of the furlough lawsuit and provides 5 & 5 "furlough make-up days". Attorneys for TEA and KC have been working on final contract language changes and validating new compensation rates. A final meeting with KC is scheduled for 6/20 to resolve contract language changes and compensation issues. Then the Transit Bargaining Team will distribute copies of the proposed contract for member review and schedule info sessions to discuss the contract in more detail. A ratification vote is planned for July.
3. Leave Requests
Steve Rosane has exhausted his leave balances and his donated leave (thanks for donating!). He has a continuing need for any leave you can donate, thanks.
4. VEBA Ballot
Council of Reps has distributed VEBA ballots and we will be collecting the votes June 20th. If you haven't got one, please see your TEA Council rep. There are instructions on the ballot.
