1. Location change for Monthly Meetings

Since taking over management of the King Street Center, FMD has added fees to some meeting rooms, including the 5th floor's Harappa and Cloaca Maxima rooms. The conference rooms on the 4th floor do not incur fees so for the forseeable future TEA will hold all meetings in one of the following 4th floor conference rooms: 4-C, 4-D, 4-E, and 4-G. We will try to find a consistent location as soon as we can book it that way (currently all of the three high-capacity rooms have at least one unavailable Wednesday during the next 9 months).

2. Upcoming Annual Meeting & Elections!

TEA's annual meeting will be on September 20, from noon to 1 p.m. in room 4-C of the King Street Center. There will be treats! The purpose of the annual meeting is primarily for the election of officers of TEA, for the Secretary to present a summary of the previous year's events, and for members to raise any concerns or issues for discussion with the board and other members. Attendance is open to Full Members and their guests; participation in the meeting is open to Full Members only. And to repeat: there will be treats!

In accordance with the election cycle in the TEA by-laws (Article VI, Section C., paragraph 2(c)), the following officer positions are open for nominations this year: Treasurer; Wastewater Bargaining Chair; Transit Bargaining Chair; and the Chair of the Council of Representatives. No officer can serve more than two consecutive terms in any one office. Members interested in submitting themselves or someone else for the positions should contact a member of the Nominating Committee. The by-laws are available on the TEA website and contain descriptions of the responsibilities of each of the officer positions. If you have any other questions regarding the election, please contact your Representative.

3. Request for donation of leave

Mohamed Sharif joined King County in October 2016. Mohamed will be taking time off when a new baby arrives (expected in the next few weeks) but he may not have sufficient sick leave to cover the entire planned time off. Anyone wishing to donate leave time to Mohamed should complete a leave donation form—
www.kingcounty.gov/audience/employees/benefits/leaves.aspx
—then submit the form to the respective Human Resources department for processing. Please review the donor requirements at the webpage above, or on the form itself.

4. Next Monthly Meeting

The next monthly meeting will be held July 19th on the 4th floor of King Street Center in conference room 4-D, Noon-1PM.

Please contact Gillian if you have a specific agenda item you'd like to add.
