Board Vacancy

The TEA Board is seeking candidates for the position of Vice President. The term will be approximately six months, to run from spring until fall, when the successful candidate will have the option to run for office again or end his/her term. Roles and responsibilities include:

Assisting the President as requested by the President
Preside over meetings in the absence of the President
Chair of the Grievance Committee
Secure and post updates/information on the TEA bulletin boards

TEA is looking for individuals to participate in this year's Nominating Committee. Please contact TEA President John Phillips for additional information.

Please note the schedule for this special election:

February 24 - Nominations due to Nominating Committee at 4pm
March 1 (week of) - Distribute ballots
March 16 - Monthly TEA meeting (Ballots due at 1PM)
April September 18 - Election results posted

2. Monthly TEA Meeting

The Monthly Meeting will be held Wednesday, February 17, in the 5th Floor Cloaca/Harappa conference room(s).

3. Wastewater Bargaining Committee

The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) is again before the Council today for a second reading and vote on the Consent Calendar. The Executive would have 10 days to sign and then the contract will be implemented.

Cindy Burch, WTD HR, will be sending out an e-mail notification to request leaves transfer upon CBA implementation of up to 40 hours in the pay period ending in 2/26, as well as, request to cash out of 40 hours in the pay period ending in 3/25 The deadline for sending information to Cindy Burch for both of these actions will be 2/25.

There will be an additional opportunity to transfer 40 hours of leaves in the pay period ending on 4/7. The deadline for sending this information to Cindy Burch for the second leaves transfer is 3/23. Please specify the exact amount of hours you want to transfer and/or cash-down in whole-hour increments.

Because the CBA allows two separate leave transfers and a cashout, all in a short time frame, there will probably be many questions about the transfers. It is important that you begin to plan now if you intend to exercise any of these CBA options.

Please contact Alton Gaskill, TEA Wastewater Bargaining Chair, if you have any questions or concerns.

4. Transit Bargaining Committee

Please contact Jerry Williams, TEA Transit Bargaining Chair, if you have any questions.

5. Council of Representatives Update

Additional member training dates are being scheduled and will be posted as dates and meeting rooms are confirmed. If you have any questions, please contact Ken Madden.
