1. TEA Monthly Meeting

The June TEA member meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, in the Cloaca Maxima and Harappa Rooms, KSC 5th Floor from 12-1pm. All members are welcome. VEBA ballots will be collected and counted after 1:00 p.m. Please consider volunteering to count the ballots.

Please send additional agenda items to the President or Secretary.

2. VEBA Vote

TEA will be conducting a VEBA vote on June 18, 2014 at the monthly meeting to determine participation in the 2015 VEBA program by TEA members in each individual bargaining unit. Ballots distribution to members began June 11th. Please see your work unit representative, Don Marable (Transit), or Alton Gaskill (Wastewater) if you have questions or need ballots.

Ballots must be submitted to the TEA Secretary by noon on June 18 or submitted at the monthly meeting to be counted.

Please visit the King County Benefits home page to find information on the VEBA program.

3. WW Bargaining Committee

The WW Bargaining Committee is looking for interested WW Bargaining Committee members.

TEA is submitting a written "demand to bargain" to the Office of Labor Relations on June 12, 2014 to formally begin bargaining for the 2015 contract.

4. Transit Contract Update

Transit Bargaining for the new contract is underway with the county. Opening proposals on non-wage topics are being discussed. Bargaining will continue through the summer.

The 2014 "Rollover" contract has been approved by the King County Council. As soon as we hear from labor relations and payroll we will announce the dates for the wage rate change and retro payments. Members can anticipate these sometime this summer.

5. Leave Donation Request

Chris Okuda (WW) and Tom MacBrier (WW) are each in need of leave donations. Thank you very much for any leave donations you can make.
