Weekly Meeting - Tuesday 10/9

Every Tuesday (12 noon at Elliott Bay Café meeting room), TEA holds a special meeting to ensure the efficient resolution of TEA business.  All members and work-group representatives are welcome to attend.  On the agenda this week:

  • Status of Contract Bargaining
  • Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) Reorganization
  • Financial Audit Results
  • Agenda for Monthly Meeting on October 17th


Voting Update

  Ballots for the election of 1st VP, Secretary and Treasurer are now being distributed to all TEA members .  Enclosed with each ballot will be statement by the candidates.  Ballots must be returned to the Secretary, Severne Johnson (MS  KSC-NR-0508), by noon on October 17th.  The ballots will be opened and results announced at the October 17th Monthly meeting of TEA.


Contract Bargaining

TEA and King County met on Thursday, 10/4 to continue contract bargaining on items which would be common to all four contracts.  TEA brought 19 bargaining issues to the table; King County brought 5 issues.  To find out more about these issues, attend a weekly (Tuesday) meeting or a monthly meeting (3rd Wed. of each month, eg. 10/17) or talk to a bargaining team member.  See the TEA website for a list: teaseattle.org.

A decision was made by the County to refocus the bargaining efforts along department lines: Transit and Wastewater.  The next contract bargaining session is scheduled for October 18th.


TEA TEAM FOR HEARTWALK: OCTOBER 20TH, 2001

We have a TEA team for the Heart walk this year and welcome you to join us.  There are only six slots left and the October 20th date draws near!  

Pledge forms can be picked up at the records counters on the 4TH and 5th floors of the King Street Center.  There are many ways to participate: as a walker, gathering pledges or by sponsoring one or more of our colleagues who are walking.  Walkers need to be identified by 10/9.  Pledges can be made up to the day of the walk.   Questions?  Please call Colleen Hinkle at (206) 684-1977.
