TEA and King County have reached a tentative agreement on the Transit Contract.
Currently the attorneys for both
sides are drafting and finalizing the agreement for membership review prior to
a ratification vote. In the very
near future we will be scheduling informational meetings to discuss the
contract issues in more detail. Here are some of the contract highlights:
·
Contract covers
six years 2008-2013.
·
TEA agrees to
move to the County’s current medical plan as soon as feasible after approval by
the County Council and remain on that plan through 2013.

The parties agree
to settle the furlough issue and members will receive 5 days of Furlough
Replacement Leave in 2013 and another 5 days in 2014. Members will not be
penalized for taking this leave or their vacation leave.
·
In consideration
of the agreement of the parties, upon implementation of the agreement all
current employees will receive a onetime additional lump sum payment of $2,000.
·
