Dues Amendments Pass

TEA members voted in favor of two amendments to the dues policy at the TEA Monthly Meeting today at the Elliott Bay Bookstore.  TEA members voted 151 to 21 in favor of Amendment #1; as a result, the special dues assessment for new members hired into positions represented by TEA will be modified.

TEA members voted 128 to 45 to support Amendment #2 which places a cap on what members will pay for the special dues assessment.


Vote on WTD Contract Scheduled

Copies of the draft agreement for WTD/TEA members was distributed at informational meetings on Wed., 7/14 and Mon., 7/19.  Ballots for the TEA vote on the contract have also been distributed.  If you do not have a copy of the draft contract and/or ballot, contact your TEA work-group representative, a negotiating team member or TEA officer.

The vote on the contract will occur on Wed., 7/28 in room 5B/C between 12-1pm.

Follow the instructions on your WTD Contract Ballot to vote on the draft contract.  If you have any questions, contact your TEA work-group representative, a negotiating team member or TEA officer.


Nominating Committee Selected

The TEA Board has identified a Nominating Committee for Officer Elections at the Annual Meeting in September.  The Committee members are: Doug Robertson, WTD, Duc Dang, WTD and Don Campbell, Transit.  In accordance with the TEA Bylaws, the Committee Chair is Ken Madden.

The duty of the Committee is to present a slate of at least one candidate for each Board position.  This election cycle there are three TEA officer positions are up for election:  President, 1st Vice President, and Secretary.  See the TEA website for a list of duties and responsibilities for each position.  Individuals can nominate themselves or a co-worker.

Please send nominations to the Nominating Committee by August 24.
