Update on Contract Negotiations
Open Enrollment for 2003 TEA Benefits
Election of Treasurer
Nominations for the Position of TEA Treasurer closed on September 30th as
notified in the TEA Times dated September 19th. One TEA member was
nominated: Eric Mandel, Program Analyst, Project Control Unit, WTD.
A vote will be conducted at the regular monthly meeting on October16th in
accordance with the Bylaws regarding Special Elections ( Article IX, Section B).
The TEA Bylaws are posted on the TEA website: www.teaseattle.org
Open Enrollment for 2003 TEA Benefits
TEA has successfully negotiated an extension of the existing Benefits Package
for 2003; all other King County employees (with a few exceptions, such as: KC
Sheriffs, Transit Drivers) will see dramatic changes in their 2003 Benefit plan
choices, such as reduced medical benefit providers, higher co-pays and higher
deductibles. TEA members will not experience these changes in 2003.
King County will mail Open Enrollment forms to TEA members this week.
Completed forms must be returned to KC Benefit Operations in the Exchange
Building By November 1, 2002.
